INSTITUTE
OF ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL AND CONFLICT RESOLUTION STUDIES
The Institute for Environmental, Social
and Conflict Resolution Studies is a joint undertaking of
Fundación Agreste and the Faculty of Exact, Chemical and Natural
Sciences of the University of Morón, created with the aim of
defending and caring for the environment. The institution
promotes the putting into practice of alternative conflict
resolutions in such a way that solutions are appropriate and
address the interest of all members of society. Meanwhile, it
also encourages the multidisciplinary training of specialists in
the subject, and the development of environmental and social
studies such as intervention in, and prevention of,
catastrophes.
This initiative is aimed at carrying out the environmental
studies necessary to make development projects, as well as
the management of environmental conflicts, environmentally
sustainable. Studies such as Alternative Dispute Resolution
(ADR), and mediation in particular, gain relevance as a
primary resource before using other available mechanisms such as
administrative claims and mechanisms of the judicial system.
