Foundation´s Perspective

FUNDACION AGRESTE works to improve quality of life for all the Earth’s inhabitants.  This aim makes no distinctions of religion, race, sex, ability or any other characteristic. 

We believe that the environment is a global concept that incorporates animal, plant and mineral diversity but that Man too forms an inextricable part of it.

Our work is essentially based on three fundamental criteria: sustainable development (meaning environmental and economic sustainability and social equality); Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), developing programmes and activities in partnership with businesses; and the search for donations to promote community farms and micro-businesses, access to water, and the fight against desertification, drought and poverty.

OUR OBJECTIVES:
 

To promote environmental and health education;
 

To advise businesses about social and environmental problems;
 

To promote studies to salvage areas in the process of ecological deterioration;
 

To drive the creation of nature reserves;
 

To advise local authorities, universities, national and provincial organisations and other NGOs on issues relating to the environment and sustainable development.
OUR PROPOSALS:
 

To organise workshops, courses, seminars and conferences that sensitise people and raise awareness of the problems we focus on.
 

To identify problems and conflicts, and suggest initiatives and solutions which sensitise society to our proposals for improving the quality of life of society, the environment, flora and fauna.
 

To promote the exchange of information between non-governmental organisations and the government.
 

To call for the national, provincial and local authorities to secure protection for the environment and a better quality of life.
 

To inform businesses about environmental issues and teach them how to minimize their impact on the environment.
 

To stress the importance of recycling.
