PROGRAMME OF VOLUNTEERING AND PRACTICES, Ad Honorem

PROPOSAL

FUNDACION AGRESTE offers a variety of programmes and opportunities to university students and graduates who are interested in experiencing Argentina from a social and cultural point of view, with the opportunity to really learn about the country’s social and environmental problems. Set programmes are not obligatory; volunteers can choose the ones which are most suitable for them.

Your involvement will allow more Eco-Humanitarian Trips and projects to be carried out, and will help generate improvement of communities and their environments.  This programme is therefore an experience that benefits the volunteer, Fundación Agreste and, most importantly, society.

WHAT WE OFFER

In recent years, students from various universities in the United Kingdom and United States have participated in our Programme of Volunteering and Practices.  They benefited greatly from the enthusiastic and animated Spanish-speaking environment at the Fundación. Their fluency and vocabulary quickly improved, through the activities that they carried out and conversation with members of the organisation.

The volunteers have also acquired a better understanding of Argentine culture and society through their activities with the organisation. What’s more, Fundación Agreste organises various Eco-Humanitarian Trips each year, where the participants have the opportunity to discover the country’s interior.

Our work is recognised by the UN and we have signed agreements with various organisations such as the UNCCD (United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification); the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) and the GWP (Global Water Partnership).  So, volunteering and practicing at the Fundación Agreste will make a significant difference, not only to a student’s life, but also to their CV.
Participants in this program receive a certificate for the activities and, if required, a performance evaluation letter or recommendation.

OUR ACTIVITIES:

Volunteers can participate in a wide variety of social, environmental and educational; or health-related activities. Among others:

• Translations into English, French, Portuguese, Italian or German.  This may be of interest to students of European languages
• Classification of donations
• Fundraising
• Research and creation of databases
• Journalism:  FUNDACIÓN AGRESTE has different methods of communication and publication, including the e-magazine and newsletters
• Participation in Eco-Humanitarian Trips and helping sponsored organisations
• Marketing.
• Observation within Health Programmes
• Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes and the CSR Club for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Students can choose which projects to get involved in according to their personal and/or professional interests.  They can also collaborate in workshops and courses on various subjects such as biodiversity, survival, climate change, etc.
We are looking for students who want to improve their skills by practice in any of the tasks mentioned above, but also those who have other interests that they believe might be useful in our work.  So, get in touch with us and see how exciting it is to make a difference.
For us it is of fundamental importance to have in our team of volunteers, committed people with initiative and ideas.
