We
want to make society aware of how important it is to
understand and prevent illnesses, how to be healthy
throughout life, and how to look after the environment so
that it can support us.
The Agreste Foundation sees the environment as a global
concept, working to combat the various consequences of
soil degradation and loss of biological diversity.
One of these consequences is the re-emergence of
illnesses that were previously thought to have been
eradicated, such as yellow fever, hantavirus, dengue
fever, etc.
This programme deals with various issues related to the
prevention of illnesses, conducting awareness campaigns.
“A Day for Your Health” Programme
Women between the ages of 14 and 50, who don’t have
access to basic privileges or resources, can receive
treatment whether they have had children or not.
The programme involves taking these women to the
Hospital de Clínicas genecology ward, to run tests (smear,
colposcopic, mammographic tests, etc.) without any cost
to the patients. In advance, patients receive a talk,
informing them of the treatments that will be carried
out, as well as ways to prevent illnesses.
The Agreste Foundation, have created this
initiative in conjunction with the Hospital de Clínicas,
in order to deal with the problems faced by
disadvantaged women, with regards to reproductive health.
Please get in touch with us if you are interested in
taking part in this project, or you are a medical
student and would like to help those who most need it.

What is the best way
to feed your child?
|
Breastfeeding is the safest way
to feed your child because it is clean and contains antibodies that help the
child to fight off illness. It is healthy and contains all the nutrients that
your child requires.
Eating natural foods provides all the nutrition that you child needs for the
development of their central nervous system.
It is essential that you feed your baby with your own milk for the first 6
months. If the baby does not receive sufficient nutrition during the first 2
years of its life, his/her brain will not develop normally, affecting
intellectual capacity and learning ability.
Breastfeeding creates a bond that lasts forever. |
